Default Car Pulls Right Under Hard braking, why?

Did a few searches and couldn't find someone with the same issue. When I squeeze on the brakes very hard coming from around 70-80 mph, but not hard enough to engage ABS, the car pulls to the right. I was on the track with an instructor and he called it "weird".

It happened every single time I was slowing down to take turn 5 at Laguna Seca.

Any ideas?

Could be a couple of things. One would be a partially frozen LEFT caliper or it could be a failing right pad creating more grip on the right side. It could also be as complete as a problem with the hydraulic system such as the actuator.

This could be caused by one of the calipers not getting enough hyd. pressure, might need a rebuild. Worth taking it to be checked out, IMO
Not a mechanic, just slepped at a Holiday inn.

In addition to real difference in the L/R braking force, yaw under braking can be caused by asymmetrical change in toe, either at the front or rear. Control arm bushings, mounts, and fasteners should be examined. Significant differences in alignment (caster, camber) between the LF and RF can also cause this.

Porsches pull to the right as a safety measure......away from oncoming traffic (and into bicycle traffic) Ferdinand Porsche did it this way, so your P would't get to much damage... bicyclers are softer than other 4 wheel driven vehicles!!

Am I full of it??? You bet!!

Man, you guys are brutal.

However, if it was pulling ONLY at turn 5, it seems more like the track than the car. Turn 5 is not the hardest braking point at Laguna, turn 11 probably is. Did the car pull at other turns or on the street?

for starters, get a flashlight and make sure the meat on your brake pads is even between both front wheels, that will give you a heads up if it's a caliper issue. otherwise, probably a cracked bushing or worn tie rod end. easy peasy.
