The prior owner put on a fixed wing. I removed it. He had cut the wiring harness to remove the wing (before realizing he should have removed it altogether and switched the harness). I am trying to connect the wires from the harness to the spoiler mechanism and have a couple "extra wires."
There are 5 wires that clearly hook into the mechanism/pump that raises the spoiler at speed. All of the cut wires match up color-wise. That's easy.
BUT there are two wires that light up the 3rd brake light on the spoiler itself. I can't find two wires on the harness matching those wires.
AND there are two large wires on the harness that didn't appear to have been cut that don't seem to plug into the spoiler (unless they plugged into the mechanism that raises the spoiler at speed. I can't see that anymore because the spoiler mechanism is put together and I don't want to take it apart if I don't have to). HELP! Thanks!
blue/green and yellow/green are thicker wires and have their own special plugs (they appear to be the two "mystery wires" in my picture. Are they what provide the power to raise/lower the spoiler? If so, I assume they plug into the mechanism/pump that moves the spoiler. I didn't see a place for them to plug in but maybe I need to disassemble it and look again (although I would hate to take it apart if I don't need to.
Does anyone know for sure where the mystery plugs go?
But it didn't answer my question - only because I don't know what I'm doing. What I really need to know is where those two mystery wires plug in. The diagram is not helping me much as a practical matter. I may need to find a 996 and physically look at it. The wires that I have on the harness (5 of which were cut) just don't match up 100% with the wires sticking out of the spoiler assembly (7 of which are cut).
