Default J3 Baffles update - READ CAREFULLY

The baffles are 95% complete. Pricing will be comparable to the stock plastic baffle system, but will be the following:

Details:
1. Custom metal baffle doors (welded to baffles)
2. CNC cut stainless panels and frames
3. Teflon "gaskets" around edges to help seal baffles area to pan/block
4. Bolts directly to any stock 996 3.4L & 3.6L oil pan
5. Dimensions are similar to X51 oil baffles
6. Pricing will be comparable to stock baffles.

For ordering this baffle, please contact J3 Motorsport individually as I do not have any affiliation with them.

Ask for David and mention Rennlist

I will be pulling the prototype in my car out and putting in the final product. Photos are not available as of yet. They still waiting for some of the CNC parts to arrive.

Ancient thread. But how did the baffle work vs oil pressure fluctuations on long high G turns?

What he describes is currently available from EBS Racing with metal doors instead of the rubber used on the OEM Porsche X51 baffle.

I recently installed a Tarret X51 style baffle before a DE at Watkins Glen, this time did not see oil pressure do any drops during high G turns.
So it did work as intended.

Good to hear. Looks like Tarret is reselling the same one made by EBS Racing. Pelican as well. Some have black and some have orange seals, they changed at some point.

Nickshu,

What year and tying car are you running? The 05 -08 Carreras's oil pressure gauge has some kind of 2-3 second continuously averaging thing going on - which unnoticed severely damp quick and Brief drops in oil pressure. It becomes harder to detect oil pressure drops than the 996 cars. I just switched from a 996 to a 997.1.

I'm surprised the different trapped door x51 version actually worked.
