Default X51 Oil pan revisited: Chads996 Baffle option Update

Greetings gents,

With all the hub-bub going on with trying to find a set of baffles for the oil pans, my race shop, J3 Motorsports in Buford, GA liked the design that I have created for my Carrera.

They have moved forward to produce a number of these. And, at this moment CAD has been done as well as the first prototype. Upon checking the fitment, parts are presently being CNC cut for assembly.

I have notified them of the interest on this board about the baffles. What they would like to know is how many people would be interested in buying this.

I am on the list already as I want to replace my riveted prototype with a welded version.

FAQ:
Q: Will this baffle set bolt onto my existing pan?
A: Yes this baffle will bolt onto your existing oil pan.

Q: Is this pan similar to the X51 oil baffles?
A: Yes, while similar it is better quality with full metal, welded components.

Q: What is the Price?
A: As I am not affiliated with J3, I do not know at this time. I will likely find out later today, if not Monday.

Q: Would a group buy be possible?
A: Likely, if I knew how many are interested. I will ask them today.

Q: Will the baffles work on a 3.6L?
A: Yes, the baffles work on 3.4 & 3.6L engines.

Any other questions, please post in the thread. I will be heading up there in about 3-4 hours (today 01/25/08). Please note, I am not affiliated with J3 at all. They simply are fabricating baffles for me.

Thanks,
Chad

A quick reminder...while everyone here is looking for a "reasonable price", I will remind you not to speculate on what the pricing will be just yet. Please keep in mind, this will not be a factory, mass produced component. It will be a hand-made custom baffle. Again...let's not speculate until the final price comes in.

I am in the same boat. Hoping for a nicely priced component as well.

Thanks,
C.

I'm Interested.

I (shelfishly) want to see some "early adopter" results first. Chad have you had the white beast on the track with this yet?

Yes, the prototype is in my car and was on Roebling Road this last weekend. No issues reported.

Update - baffles panels have been fabricated (CNC cut) and the brackets are being fabricated as I type.

The price point has not been determined. More information will be available on Monday.
