Nice move, and completely understandable.

I'm already feeling the tug. No sooner did I buy my first 911 (just two weeks ago) when some guy in my building starts showing up with a Scaglietti in the office parking lot. It kinda makes the 996 look like a steroidal VW Bug...

The Spyder is awesome, but my (eventual) P-car of choice will be a 575 Maranello ...

Thumbs up

Great car! Enjoy!

My son's been bugging me to buy a Ferrari ever since he sat in a 360 Spyder several years back. Reliability doesn't concern me, but the nearest dealer is in San Antonio, and I have yet to come to grips with the idea of a 200 mile round trip (on a crappy interstate highway) for routine service.

Always one with his glass half full, my son asked to choose the colors for my truck during restoration, got his mom to take him to the PPG paint store, and selected the body paint code as rosso corsa (that's Ferrari red) and the roof paint code as bianco neve (that's Ferrari white). See my avatar. It's a great color combo.

There are those in the Ferrari community who scoff at the V8s, saying a proper Ferrari is front-engine, V12, and red. Of course, they're all old enough to remember the 250 SWB Berlinetta, quite possibly the most beautiful car ever made. So ghostwriter11, if you purchase a Maranello, make sure it's red!

That's my problem... I would have liked to have saved a little longer to for something like a 360. But when the closest dealer is 800 miles away in Illinois, if I get in over my head on DIY, there's nowhere even close to convenient to turn. Plus I think our roads would destroy the car.

Beuatiful car btw...

I've always liked 550s and 575Ms.

To say any previous Ferrari to the 360 does not age as gracefully as a 911 is ludicrous.

Ever heard of any of the following?

365 GTS/4?
250 SWB?
275 GTS?
288 GTO?
250 GT?

Thanks for the continued kind words

Yeah...if money was no object I would love a 550 Barchetta or a 599 and the 360.

The 360 should prove to be a good "starter" F. I am already pushing my dealer for a retail purchase on the 430 replacement ....since I am "in the club"

We are lucky here in Phoenix to have good roads and a dry climate...350 Sunny Days a year...hot as Hell in the summer but the roads never take a beating like places where there are real seasons.

FWIW....put her on the track Saturday...only ran 2 20min sessions in beginner group with the local PCA but the F1 Transmission is like cheating!!! SO MUCH FUN!

Spoke with Poff today. We are trying to figure it out. Looks like the closest he can come is St. Louis which is 3 hrs away. I may take a minivan to meet him if I can get it to fit in the mini van. I'll call you tomorrow.
