+1 for whatever works. Sometimes it's the left side of the foot, sometimes it's the ball/heel.

I thought I had the best of both worlds. My 996 race car had a cable throttle with a 3.6L X51. It reved pretty fast. Then I got a 996 cup and discovered how slow the 996 was. When I first drove it the engine would rev up and back down before I got the clutch out. I got used to that and then came the 997. It's faster yet. Luckily the clutch travel is so short you can get it in and out very quickly. Damn I love cars.

Really? I can't even envision how I could physically do that. The only thing I can think of is that your footsteps in the snow must look like this.

Just having a little fun, no offense intended.

Foot size makes a difference as well. I can't imagine how I'd fit my size 13 flippers in that small space with my heel on the brake and toe on the gas. I have rennsport pedals and actually can't wear some shoes (wide sole running shoes) because I clip the dead pedal or brake while clutching. Pilotti shoes and heel toe works best for me.

Duanne, What part of San Diego do you live in... I think I saw your car in RSF at the gas station that sell 100 octane fuel.

OK; old thread, but two solutions:
1. These helped a LOT! (Rennline)

2. And I found these shoes (from my younger band days) in a closet. The only way I could get my heel low enough to hit the gas pedal while braking. (Do get funny looks in the garage, however)

Nice shoes, but that 2-point safety harness is even cooler...

On the e-gas thing, I have an '01 (e-gas) and friend has a '99 (cable) and I must say that the e-gas is so much more responsive; of course, there might be something wrong with his car, but there is no CEL light and he had a recent MAF replacement. After swapping cars ( i was trying his new M030 susp. which btw is awesome) I thought to myself that the way the engine spools up in my '01 is so much faster and responsive than his, that they felt like totally different cars

I picked options 2 and 4, but the poll wouldn't let me do that.

It depends on what shoes I'm wearing.

Funny . . . after all these years I still remember the look on my dad's face as I was gluing those mirrors on my guitar strap. Closest approximation might have been "oy vey." (no idea how to spell that)

Hey, thanks for the reply! I think the gas pedal is a little low compared to the brake. Might try that adjustable plate that Rennline has for the gas pedal . . .

That's correct; if I don't brake hard, it's difficult for me to reach the gas pedal with the right side of my foot.

I find that wider shoes really helps. I bought some driving moccassins from CostCo for like $20 but they make it more difficult...
