Default Track doods: 2-piece rotors. Found some interesting info

I spoke to Livermore Performance today about 2-piece rotors for the 996 Carrera 2. Upon learning that there were not very many companies making them, the gentleman I spoke to said they have the tooling available to custom fab some 2-piece rotor hats. All we need to given them are the dimensions for our cars. Upon saying this, he also said that the pricing would be spot on compared to other 2-piece manufactured prices.

If we had enough interest, I am thinking we could possible get a group buy going...

Side info: 2-piece rotors are a massive benefit. They reduce rotating mass and provide better cooling characteristics while on track. Better cooling also means better heat transfer, which equates to longer wheel bearing life.

Interest? What say you?

2-piece rotors are a bit more expensive up front. Only recommended for track purposes. No need to change OE rotors if these are for street purposes only.

In the long term, you buy only the rotor rings. Which have a tendency to be a little less in cost.

I could be interested...but if they're not going to be cheaper than what's already on the market then what's the draw over the ones that are out there and already proven?

Name some please. I have been hunting for a full front and rear replacement (OE sized) set of 2-piece rotors for weeks. All I can find are PFC's but they only come in the fronts. And, they require specially ground pads to work.

I have heard that AP had some, but I cannot find a table with sizing specifications.

Synergy Racing has the Performance Friction 2 piece rotors for the front. Will these fit your 996?

Yes. However...as I mentioned above.... PFC only has the fronts. And, they require specially ground pads in order to clear the rotor hats.

I am looking for a full (front & rear) set.

Sorry Paul - specs need to consistent with C2's only. The TT has a completely different spec.

Do they have rears available? I ran a full set of these on my old M3. You are correct, UNREAL.

I should receive mine this week (front), and they said no to the rears.
I am hoping they will make them soon.....or
If you get custom ones built our rears should be the same??? C4/C2 I'm in for (half)

Do you know what rotor style and size these are going to be? I need some hats for a 355mm rotor with the Brembo 10x 233mm mounting pattern. If that's what they'll be I may get a pair of hats.
