For us - yes we are weather weenies - that is freaking COLD. My dachshunds have to be all but tossed outside to do their business (ie crap & pee).

However, we are prepared - we have over-heated, bikini-babe-staffed Jacuzzis to prevent human weenie shrinkage.
It got down to 23 degrees here (Charlotte) last night. I have 4 dachshunds and they are not crazy about doing their business in the cold weather either. Get out... zip..... GET BACK IN!!!

The dealership (Champion Porsche in Pompano) called - "sorry, but the stereo isn't covered under warranty. Want an estimate for a new one?"

23,000 miles on the car - CPO'ed - still under factory warranty.

Does that blow or what?

Can someone suggest who at Porsche NA Porschedog should call? I think he's getting screwed here. My radio and CD changer were completely covered under factory warrantee! Can't see why yours isn't.

I think the main question is his bumper to bumper still in effect if his car is a 2003 then it most likely is not. The CPO warranty covers less and may not cover the radio but I would have to read up on their coverage to be sure. I think it would not hurt to call and ask another dealership.

Not to beat a dead horse but after reading their website see link below.
http://www.porsche.com/filestore.asp...letype=default
It does not list the radio as a covered item which sucks but you never know some dealers are nicer then others.

Good idea - I am going to call The Collection to see if they'll take care of this.

This thread is very timely. My radio worked fine this morning when leaving the house garage for work. It was parked in the parking deck all day. I tried to turn it on coming home and it would power up (show "porsche" in the display) but would do anything else (28 F today). My first thought was the cold got to it!

I thought from Porschedog's post his factory warrantee was still in effect. If so, radio should be covered. If it's hit the extended warrantee, I agree he may be out of luck.

I think my factory warranty IS still in effect. I'm going to let the WereWife place a call to the stealership. May God have mercy on their worthless souls...

This just underscores the fact that we buy these cars in Spite Of the dealers, not because of them. They know we'll come back for more no matter how badly they treat us.

Porschedog - did your car originally sell after the 2004 models came out? That is the only way it could still be under the original 4/50,000 warranty. My warranty expires in about 45 days.

I have my PCar radio and amp available for sale, taken out of my 2003 c2 when I replaced the sound system with my Pioneer Z2.

PM me if interested.

Leaving my "warm" garage this morning the radio worked fine. Let's see how it does when I leave tonight after it has been sitting out in the cold all day!

fffffffffingers tooo ccccold to type ... got down to 39 degrees - gotta go hug a polar bear... or a Canadian on vacation - not that you can tell one from the other.)

(yeah, I know I just gave Riad a perfect setup to mock us Southerners for what we consider cold weather - it's ok, we can take it)

I had the same problem today....worked fine out of the garage this morning but... when I went for a drive at noon after being parked outside no CD/Radio...initially...it started working about 45 mins later.

Note: we got REAL cold here (8 degrees this morning)!!!
