Default Christmas gift

Well I got some nice gifts including a set of aluminum pedals . The big surprise and top gift came from my son (16) who made a metal cut out of my car in his metal shop via a plasma cutter.

Hope you all had a good Christmas!

That's cool!

Surprisingly, with the exception of the sport design wheels that I bought a few weeks ago I didn't get any Porsche related gifts this year.

Well done. Your son obviously doesn't like Porsches either.

I'm not sure that it was a gift from Holberts... remember a gift would have included lube.

Yeah Phil, when SAND is pounded, it is not considered a gift!

LOL...

Thanks guys

He is currently learning to drive, has a drivers permit (help me).
He was as excited as I was when we bought it. Gets that look in his eyes when we walk by the car, a bit scary, kind of like this

I got $150 worth of Griots Garage gift certificates and an in-line water softener with filter (http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...rrivals&page=1)

Think I will buy this Orbital set... (http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...sealant+kit.do)... does anybody have experience with this?

That thing is cool - very thoughtful gift.

Quite a nice view from your home or office window there.

LS - neat gift. As a 'temporary" substitute for my REAL Christmas present, my daughter got me some micro fiber towels, some car detergent, and some glass/detailing mocro fiber towels.

She is painting a pic of my 996 so I can remember what it looks like after I sell it. She is a pretty good artist, and I can't wait to see it. That is going to be my REAL Christmas present.

Thanks again to all for your kind remarks/compliments.

I look forward in seeing that painting when completed, post it!

Ludwig, rest assured that I will take a few pics of the painting when it is completed and I will post them.

I have the Porter Cable version and I love it! 1) It allows you to use more gentle compounds on your car because it does the elbow work for you. 2) Makes detailing the paint easier, so you tend to do it more often. 3) The random orbit helps ensure that amateurs (like me) don't swirl the paint.

There used to be a great video on the Meguiars's website that showed how to use it. Not sure if it is still there.
