I understand the intake is on the opposite side and the fan needs to be moved.

Holly ****.....I was just about to post the exact same question till I saw yours. Thanks and hope we both get some help and answers.

I was told it would be difficult to convert and fit an OEM MK II GT3 decklid onto a 996. Are you looking at the same for sale item...LOL

Default GT3 lid

I'm looking at the one for sale in MD. Is that the one you're looking at?

It can be made to fit in three easy steps....

1) Purchase spoiler
2) Remove engine and replace with GT3 crate motor
3) install spoiler

(sorry, at least I bumped the thread....)

Deckman, PM me... I know a place that sells a good aftermarket GT3 deck wing. We may be able to get a deal if we buy more than one.

Its a direct fit as long its OEM. Its "pulg n Play". I got one. The OEM GT3 lid comes with its own harness. make sure the key is out of the ignition the entire time you do this. The fan is moved from the old lid to the OEM GT3 lid in the same cofiguration. I dont remember the position being different.

Edit: I stand corrected. Redridge is correct. Below is a pix of Aerokit II OEM lid for an MY02 car. Also, the red one is a full bloded GT3. There is a difference in the fan and air intake positioning.

Huh??? We are talking about fiting the OEM GT3 deck lid onto a 996. The fan and air duct is on the opposite side. The fan can be moved but what about the air intake duct?

My car is a MY 2002. This lid I installed is an Porsche OEM aero II rear(GT3). Do you see the fan? It only have one spot for it, and so is the intake.

Here's a GT3 car. This is Old Guy's(Paul) red GT3(now replaced with 997 GT3).
