Default Ezhaust sounds

First off let me say that I don't mean to upset anyone but,
How close can an exhaust change get to making an 02 996 sound like a 995 (any vintage)
I am not happy with the 996 engine sounds, it doesnt have that PORSCHE noise

What's a 995?

The PSE is generally regarded as the best sounding 996 exhaust. Very aggresive tone.

994 and 995 are the "lost" versions of the 911.

Since the 996 was leaps and bounds better than the 993, they skipped 994 and 995 and jumped to 996. They just wanted to make sure all Porsche owners recognized that fact.

As compared to the air cooled cars? It will never sound like them no matter what you do to the exhaust. The 996 has a water jacket surrounding the cylinders, there is no fan to cool the engine and the 996 has thicker insulation than the 993. Its a different car...

Please don't.

Soon there will be waves of them telling us about how their cars go "thunk" when they close the door, and how Jesus designed and built each one with his bare hands.

... and on top of that they will tell us that 996's aren't real Porsches anyway.

Try PSE

It sounds better (IMO) than any Porsche exhaust that the 993 was offered with.

That's sound more like a by-pass than PSE.

agreed.

i actually think my car sounds best at half throttle at lower speeds in the 1-2 gears. at wot, the engine noise drowns it out , and inside, my intake howls at WOT 3rd gear upper RPMs. love it.
