They're Porsche Sport Design wheels. I'll post some photos later today once I've cleaned them up.

Well: Glad to hear you finally got your rims, it sucks tho tht new tires sound so imminent. I can commiserate re: some of these internet transactions with our rennlist brothers, I was given a major run around about selling my 3.6 mufflers, so that I finally just said I'm keeping them. Oh well, you can't win them all, but if the rims are straight and true that is most important. You should have them roadforced to make sure they are really as advertised asap before putting them on the car.

Good luck can't wait to see them.

Yup! I have an appointment to have them installed on Wednesday morning. The task for today is to clean them up and try and buff out the scratches.

Okay here are the photos after I hit the wheels with soap, water and 409.

it pains me to see the two rear wheels without their emblems.

I've not yet treated the micro-scratches - I'll probably do that after installation.

I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing 90% and 10% tread remaining, respectively.

Using this tread wear guide

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=51

I discovered that the front tires have approx 4/32" remaining tread - that puts them close to needing to be replaced. Hmm. 90% remaining.

Wayne, FWIW - I really love the wheels - the black caps are great with them. As for the tires, yikes!

Yeah, I think the car will look great when the wheels are installed. I'll have to get more photos on Wednesday.

As for the tires, yeah, yikes is one word to use... I had them in mind for autocross use and to be honest it's not even worth the $100 that it would cost to have them mounted on my existing wheels. I'll probably end up trashing all of them. Before the wheels arrived I had considered selling the 2 front tires, but I don't think it's worth selling tires that are close to needing replacement.... pity that I had to pay to ship the dead weight of tires across the country for no reason.

From your pics, I'd just ditch them and treat yourself to new tires to go with the wheels. Shame about the shipping. I still think this Jason character is a weasel. Just my $0.02!

Well, I intend transferring my Bridgestones from my existing wheels into the new wheels, as they only have around 3500 miles on them. I could get a new set, but I hate to retire such a new set of tires.

As for the purchase - well, this place has some great people that are highly trustworthy - we're a family - it's a pity when someone comes along that breaks that trust. I guess it's a good indicator when someone with 110 posts and a 944 comes along with something to sell that you might want to steer clear of them, or at least be highly cautious.

It was funny that he was so paranoid about getting screwed, but in reality he was the more suspect character. Given the choice would you trust an active member with 4000 posts, or an infrequent poster with 100 posts who doesn't have a reputation that he cares to protect?

No brainer! Agree - put the Bridgestone's on your new wheels. Can't wait to see pics!

Wayne, just give the tires to Phil. The way he drives, there are two years of tread left on those tires!

I'll take them, and put them on the S4 - my wife will write Wayne a check.
