Default Coolant came pouring out...help/suggestions?

I replaced both my coolant tank and cap on my '99 996 recently with a Porsche tech out of town (other home) due to small leaks. The other day however, I was sitting idle in Neutral on a very small driveway incline and the coolant randomly came flushing out the back on its own...white smoke came up from heat contact, but almost all of the coolant came out. I'm not sure if it boiled over, but it's hard to find any leaks. Any ideas what I should do? I'm thinking about just filling it back with coolant and see how it runs for the next couple of days.
Thanks!

Sounds like you have air in the system and it is burping ... but I am no expert so lets wait for others to chime in, plus I am interested in knowing.

I had the same thing happen in my previous p-car. Faulty cap, which let the coolant boil over at a very low temp. Dealer replaced and balanced my coolant...good to go. Might be a start.

Cap shouldn't be faulty though unless it was loose?? Brand new cap...
Engine belt is okay I believe...car is running/driving fine. I may need to just make a trip to the dealer to get more coolant/proper mix. How much should this cost btw...with service. I'm in LA...scared of BH Porsche service prices.

50/50 Peak Lifetime coolant is only 9.99/gal at Napa.

Are you sure your coolant tank is not cracked?
Refill it - let is sit overnight and see if you have more leaks.
A cracked tank is a lot more common that a leaking bleeder valve.

Mine leaked and I was sure it was the tank...ended up being the water pump. I agree w/1999Porsche911. Why use $50 Porsche coolant when you can get it for $10!!

I just replaced the tank though...the old tank had a very very small leak/crack on the bottom...reminder, this new incident wasn't a leak...the coolant came pouring out randomly...like just the entire full tank of new coolant came flushing out the back. Is it possible the thermostat is broken and it boiled over?

could be the water pump...?

Redridge, it previously was leaking on the left side muffler with the cracked tank, but this last time it all just came pouring out at once...not from a particular side.

50/50 Peak lifetime...I'll look for this and let it sit overnight maybe?

Anyone know any Porsche techs in Los Angeles? I'm scared to get raped by Bevery Hills Porsche.

Did you replace the spring clamps with the screw type clamps (there is a TSB)? I replaced mine due to leaking when under pressure for the connections to the tank.

hmm not sure, I'll have to ask the tech who did the job.
