Default Considering a C4S

I currently have a 30K Carrera 4 89 and I am considering finding a low mileage C4S with a manual trans 200-2004. What is the ownership experience with this car? Reliability etc. Any things or issues I should be looking for? Thanks ahead of time.

had it for 9 months to date - loving it

came from an M3 (smooth like butter) and an s2000 (the most fun driving experience out of the 3).

but the 911 has the exotic sound, looks, pedigree... stiffest chassis out of the 3 as well. and i'd say the best interior, but mine's pretty optioned out to the max.

I've had a C4S since June....still love just looking at the car. I also have an '85..similar to yours. It's a world of difference. I love my 996 so much, that it's getting a winter wheel setup...part of me wants snow tomorrow...most of me still doesn't. My daily was a 3 series as well....which I was happy to return after the lease ran. I literally put 25 miles on it since the 996 was delivered...never looked back. 996 = New DD.

No issues to report other than a horn that was fixed under CPO. Car is just ridiculous, with fantastic A/C to boot.

I think the C4S is the best looking 996. I'd say go for it.

Nah, he currently has an air cooled but no water cooled P-car, so it's too soon to ask for pics! Plus he wants a C4S and mine is only a lowly C2.

Hmmmm....low mileage C4S. How does 2500 miles sound. You've come to the right place. Now, convince me to sell it!

Hell, he could actually come to your house and steal it and you wouldn't even know it was gone until late next Spring. I can just hear the conversation that Phil has with the police officer in April of next year.

Police Officer: When did you notice the vehicle was missing?

Phil: Late this afternoon. That's when I called the police station.

PO: When did last see the vehicle?

Phil: Uhmmm.... it was in the middle of October, when I put it in storage for the winter.

PO: October, huh? Of which year? < Police Officer does this >

Phil: < sounding indignant > October of last year, OF COURSE!

OCTOBER?? You're being optimistic!!

JK - but, at first hint of snow, car's in storage til April! It's true that I won't see it - since it's going to be stored off site - to make room for the S4 (if that damn thing ever gets here )
