The short answer is I don't know.
The medium length answer is a spec boxster.
The full answer is.....
I'm really leaning towards buying a spec boxster to run in POC. However, I have a potential lead on a well-sorted 996 GT3 one of my POC brethren is thinking about selling. Although the 3 doesn't fit my criteria for a race car, I'm not totally against the idea of owning a dedicated track car (such as his GT3) for a year or two and THEN getting a race car.

If you decide to go with the return to stock option, I have a friend who is looking for the roll-bar and seats. PM me if you want his contact info.
Good luck with whichever you decide,
Pete

I'm looking to buy a race prepped car...... a car that already has a full roll cage and all of the go-fast parts already installed. A street GT3 is not a race car. It's obviously very competent on the track in DE and TT events, but not the right car for wheel to wheel racing. Converting a street GT3 into a race car is an extremely costly proposition... removing the trim pieces, installing a roll cage, upgrading the suspension parts, etc. etc. etc. It's much more cost effective to buy a cup car than it is to convert a street GT3 into a race car.
That's why I made the statement that a GT3 doesn't fit my criteria for a race car. Am I making better sense now???

Yes, that is such a perfectly set-up GT3.
Unfortunately, can't make it Saturday, but I signed up to instruct and run on Sunday. See you there.
And good luck with the sale of the silver car, it's a beauty!
LOL
