Plenty of room on each side. I will try and take a pic tomorrow. I got the jacking plate but not the jack itself. I did buy the oil change rolling tub but I am not sure how much jacking I will do on the lift. My current plan is to store mainly with the lift and put the car I am working on in the open floor space.

Very nice setup! The only thing I would add is that when I do this (in the near future) I will ONLY buy American made setups. yes they cost more but I have heard NO stories on USA made lifts and a ton of horror storries on the Asian made variety.

Yes, I heard this also and is why I drove over to see and discuss it with them. Weaver has been selling lifts for a long time and I got comfortable with them and their installers recomendations. Each person has to make this decision on their own but even most of the American companies have a lower cost Chinese lift now also.

Yes they do. But you have to ask yourself why the cost is cheaper? Materials is a big reason why. I am sure the number of Asian made lifts that fail is a small number it is just that the vast majority of failed lifts happen to be the one's Asian made.

This is exactly what I've been thinking of doing! It looks like I can get by with just extending the track height on my current door...for a measly $1800!
Thanks for the pics and the info!

Pat - You are kidding about $1,800 just to extend the garage door track height, right? Hell, I'll come down there and do it for $900.

Seriously, the parts can't be more than a couple of hunderd dollars.
