Glass sunroof?
#16
I was seriously thinking of a windshield wiper delete which would equal out with the glass install. Just don't roll down your window and rest your hand on the mirror - then you'd be back to 4-7 horses down.

BMW use to make an optional drop-in glass moonroof for their E30 chassis BMWs back in the late 80's. For some reason steel sunroofs were really popular with European cars back then. You had to buy American or Japanese cars to get a moonroof.
Since BMW could do it, I suspect it's possible for a 996 as well. The key would be being able to mount a piece of tempered glass in the same mounting rails that the steel piece uses. Someone should make one, I'd be interested. This is the only car I have which doesn't have a glass roof. While it is heavier, I'm fine with it. Seattle isn't exactly bright and cheery in the winter.

I don't know about that, but my sunroof (roof panel and all) is about to be removed. It may be available at a very reasonable cost, if someone wants to use it as a test bed.

Yep I am pretty much done with mods like this. Now time to put some track stuff in to get ready for next year. Let's see, 1st thing on the list is....that's right a Fire Extinguisher and make sure I use the correct plastic straw on spray cans that do not get blown off and into the intake
