Thanks for the input and the entertaining side bar conversations as well. I have to admit that the shallow side of me really prefers the newer look of the 997 and the interior is much nicer. So unless I can find a deal that I just can't pass up on a 996TT cab (Carrera White or Guards Red with Tan interior)...then I am going go 997 hunting!

What i have found so far is a new 997 Turbo Cab isn't really that much more than a 997 C4S cab comparable options (Bose, GPS, etc.) since the Turbo Cab has alot of standards that are options on the other 997's. Perhaps I should hold onto my 996 cab for another year and wait for a few used 997 TT cabs to show up in the market...I just have a tough time justifying buying a new one knowing that I will be dropping 10-20% as soon as i drive her off the lot.

I haven't started any negotiations yet on a new one so it could be that the dealer will negotiate more on a C4S than on a TT...that may point me one way or the other as well.

I guess that crappy M96 wet pumper is the same as the GT1 M64 dry pumper???

Come on Gant, you should know better. YOu have had both and clearly have the more superior one now

Surprised that a turbo would make that much of a weight diff. considering it IS the ONLY difference between the C4S and the TT.

Like I said in the previous page, you just have to stop and think about it for a second and it will make sense.

Now if we all had GT3's, this wouldn't a problem!

Yeah, you are right, but that is EXACTLY why I had to point it out to 'Gant!

I put a 148lbs of sand in the front trunk, so my C4S weighs exactly the same as a 996TT cab.

I think you'd need to put LESS than 148lbs of sand to get closer to 996TT weights with your Cab.

opps, no, I was thinking 996TT coupe. I presume it would be the same weight difference between 996 C4S Cab and 996 TT Cab, 148-150lbs.

The Used TT Cabs around here are still damn expensive... almost the same as a new C2S Cab.

I tried a 996 TT and 997C4S Cab and it was obvious which one i liked better.

The 997S just seemed more enjoyable to drive, sounded better, looked better and felt nicer inside.

The TT was very fast, but seemed so effortless that it didnt seem you were going so quick until you saw the speedo numbers. Sitting inside it seemed EXACTLY like my 996 C4.... didnt seem special

Ive never driven a TT Cab though
