I have quite a few track laps in my GF's Cayman S and thousands of track miles in a 996. As I've said before, the Cayman is the car Porsche should be developing as it's top end sports car. The 911 variants should be evolved into GT cars for guys that want to say they have a 911. The Cayman is a damn fine sports car.
As for the turbo, I hate them on the track. It's like driving a tank with a jet engine.
Just my 2 cents worth.

The CaymanS was maybe the only car the salesman had to pull me out of with both his hands, but i jammed my foot under the brake pedal and stuck my hand in his face. It was all working to plan until the assistant salesman came out and ran off with the car keys.
The FIA GT2 class in 2007 is a glaring indication that the CaymanS needs to play a larger role in sprint sports car racing or the 997 needs to go mid engine. Leave the 997 GT3 for endurance events. The F430 is drilling the 997 GT3 and the new Scuderia is lighter than the current 430 and more powerful than a Z06.
