Yesterday I heard a clunck from the indicator stalk on my 2001 'C2' when the steering cancelled the indicator operation after a corner.
Now the Left Indicator operation works fine, but does not cancel after the corner, and when trying to use the right turn signal, the stalk is quite stiff and the indicator will not stay on unless I hold the stalk in the correct position. (ie it springs back to the off position if I let go of it even on a straight.)
I have tried playing around with locking the steering and various other 'manipulations', but nothing has worked.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so is there a fix for it ?
If not - is the stalk easy to replace, and what is the approx cost of the required parts ?

Do a search on OBC install here and on the other forums. You will find lots of DIY info which includes removing the steering wheel and the turn signal switches, this will guide you on how to do the replacement. I know there is one detailed article that has many pictures of the project. Just be careful that when you remove the airbag you don't reconnect the battery or turn on the ignition before you reinstall the airbag or you will get the dreaded airbag warning light that can only be turned of with the dealer tool ( or a Durametric OBD).
My PET shows four diffent switches, there are three stalk and four stalk versions, the fourth stalk being for the OBC. The numbers and prices (USD) are as follows:
996 613 213 10 $121.90
996 613 215 10 $335.90
996 613 217 10 $194.90
996 613 219 10 $249.90
Not really sure which one you need. Hope this helps.
