Default A few pictues of my new wheels

I thought I would post some pics of my new (to me) 19" wheels. I found that the 997 rims fit the car quite well. Thanks to those of you that helped me make my decision regarding fitment.

Thanks, my 18" Carrera II's had one bent rim and some curb rash from previous owner, so I wanted to replace them with similar wheels, but could not in good conscience buy another pair of the same rims. I am "anti-bling" so I thought this was a good replacement. The car is standard height.

I think the wheels look really nice, great job.

Oh, just curious, are you color blind?

I love those wheels on the 996 - great looking car. I'm red-green color blind, but that car is green, right?

Thanks guys.

OK Riad, I'll bite, why might I be colorblind? (I am not )
Phil, yes it is rainforest green.
Juan, They are 295 30 19 in rear and 235 35 19 in front.

Looks nice.. the 19's look great on that car. I think Riad was responding to the color balance of your photos.. they look overly green, at least on my monitor.
Everything, and I mean everything, has a green tint to it (the silver rims, what I take to a be a white downspout on the house in the background, etc..)

- Nick

P.S. For grins, I pulled one into Photoshop and did a quick, abeit crude, color correction - does this not look closer to reality on your monitor?

Nick: OIC.... Got it.
No, I did not mess with color saturation at all, it was at dusk and I believe the fstop was something like 3.9 at iso 100 on my Leica digital. I think it might be lack of adjusting f stop, and time of day. I just snapped a few quick pics for my fellow rennlisters, so it was a point and shoot followed by quick size reduction. If you guys have seen my alternator DIY, you will know I am photoshop illiterate.

Probably the combination of low light and a predominantly green scene (green car against green grass with green plants in the background) threw the autobalance off on the camera..

It's all good.. still a hella nice car, green or no green

Thanks Nick, I haven't used color correction before, and after your post I see what you guys are talking about.

Yes, the light was too low for my fstop, I lost a few pics as they came out blurry with just going hand held. lol

I just turned the camera on, it was actually set to F2.7 at iso 100 using the autofocus. The last time I used it was at the Newport Jazz Festival and it was sunny as hell there.

Yea the colors are off... don't have photoshop on this computer but I would show you what I mean, but it really doesn't matter I was just having some fun. Doesn't change the fact that I like the look.

997/987 Carrera II wheels are a nice evolution of the 998 Carerra wheel. I personally think the 18"s are visually better balanced for a 996, and give you the ability to have a higher sidewall, which makes for a better ride, and less chance of getting curb rash.

Rainforest Green is a great color, one of the "1%" colors!
