1999 996 light grey leather dye source needed
Hi there,
I suspect I'm not unique in my situation. We have a '99 with factory grey leather interior which is in very good condition overall, with the exception of the top of the steering wheel and gear shift ****. The leather itself is in good shape, but the "top coat" is worn. Frankly, I'm not that impressed by the quality of the leather as the car has been garaged and it was worn at about the 4 year mark. By comparison, out '01 ML looks like new and our old '94 Jeep looked 10 times better at twice the age!
Is there a source that supplies leather dye/refinishing kits that can match Porsche colours? I'm in Toronto, but given the relatively unique nature of the request, I have no problem sourcing from a foreign firm and shipping.
Thank you for any input and suggestions!!!

I also have a 99 C2 in graphite grey. I purchased dye from Leather World Technologies it it did the job. Here's their website... http://www.leatherworldtech.com/Auto...x?make=Porsche
I found the colour match to be perfect. I used it on parts of my seat, handbrake, steering wheel.
The only downside was the steering wheel. Perhaps I applied it too thick, but it no longer feels like leather. Feels kind of vinyl'ish now.

Mine has Graphite Grey and the same thing was happening to the steering wheel and the leading edge of the front seats. I purchased the dye from Dynamix on Ebay. Do a search on "Porsche leather dye" and you'll find them. I did about three coats and the results were great. I'd post a "before and after" picture, but it's about 100 degrees out today, so maybe another time.

Thank you for the tips.
I think I have graphite grey. How can I tell for sure - i.e. where would I find the code. I see A LOT of different numbers on the inside of the trunk lid.
Thanks all!

I sent an email to Suncoast (rknab@sunsetautogroup.com) with my VIN and they replied back with all the specs on my car.
