PA/NJ/NY Final Fling: Fall Foliage on October 13th
Fall Foliage Drive: Lambertville NJ to Highpoint State Park, NJ and back.
This is a little different from our previous drives - more an occassion to enjoy the scenery on a drive up into the hills.
Be warned that this is a longer drive than previous ones. Attendees from NJ and NY are welcome to head their own way on the drive back.
Bring a picnic lunch and 2 way radios if you have them.
Saturday October 13th
Meet 7:15am
Driver's Meeting 7:45am
Depart 8am Sharp!
Meeting point:
Lambertville Municipal Court
25 S Union St, Lambertville, NJ 08530
http://www.google.com/maps?q=25+S+Un...wloc=addr&om=1
We anticipate being back in at the start point around 2pm.

Cool!
This might be an all-day event though - I'm looking at the map and it's going to be significantly longer than previous drives. I figure that's the best way to get some scenic drives and good color.
One benefit for the NY/NJ guys is that they could bail at the most northern point if they chose to.

The bail option sounds good, since my wife LOVES when I take off for a joy ride while leaving her with the two kids! It's two months away, so I'll be checking this thread as it gets closer to go time.
Thanks for putting these drives together!

Not a problem! It would be great if you can make it.
I know my wife didn't react favorably when I told her that it would be a long drive. I think pointed out that a trip to the Poconos would be equally long.
As you said, the drive is 2 months away, so there's plenty of time for things to change as things shape up.

Three Wheelin'
Andy....I'm in the same boat here...but 3 machismos at home. I'm in as far as I know! Was just talking about this in another thread 2 days ago. My proposal would be a stint up the Palisades from the NY side, and upstate thru mountain twisties, ending up North of New Paltz for some german eats. Just an alternative suggestion.
Also, we should cross post for a great turnout.

Great - glad to have everyone along. Just a heads-up. This will be different from preiovus drives. It will be relatively uncomplicated - longer (upto twice as long) and focus on fall colors, rather than dragging everyone through the backroad roller coaster. I'll also have to figure out places for us to stop and eat.
This is not one of my routes, but one I obtained from a member of the Ducati club, but it looks really pretty from the satelite photos that I looked at last night.

It would be great have you both along.
We are still on. As predicted I've had a pretty busy month so far, but I'm hoping to pull the route together this weekend and drive it in the upcoming weekends. Thanks for bumping the thread - I guess if we start getting the threads active, then it will motivate me to find time to get everything organized.
The plan is to start in Lamberville (usual place) and head north into Jersey to High Point State park - the highest point in NJ. The foliage should be nice by then and it should make for a nice drive. Those that join us from NY and Jersey will then be free to either head their own direction home, or join us for the ride back.
I hope to see you (and the rest of our regulars) there!
