help with Huper Optik tint
I inquired with a local tinting shop about 30% Huper Optik ceramic. Below is his response. Does anyone know what he's talking about? Is this a sign of an amateur installer or is this really the case? The other option I have is a highly respected shop that installs Madico ceramic , but they only have 20% or 35% tint. I think 20% might be too dark and 35% too light.
Any thoughts?
thanks... josh
The Huper Optik tinters response:
The only issue is a possible slight ghosting in the back glass when we heat shrink the film to form it to the shape of the window. You can't see this from the inside and only on the outside depending upon the lighting conditions and
angle that you view the glass. Kind of looks a little like a reflection of
a cloud. If you look at some back windows, you can see these small little
whitish dots all over the glass and that kind of looks like what I am
talking about but just in certain areas on the top and bottom edge of the
glass. Very hard to explain but that is the only bad thing about the Huper
Optik ceramic film. For some strange reason, the 40% shade does not ghost.

Sounds like he knows what he is talking about...in other words don't use Huper Optik tint.
Find someone that carries FormulaOne tint and get there Pinnacle Series Ceramic tint, you will not be disappointed with it unless the installed sucks

Does sound like he has experience.
FWIW, I have had no problems with my Huper Optik tint. Can't remember off the top of my head, but think I did 30% back, 40% rear sides, and something right near the legal limit (ahem) on the driver and passenger sides. The rear window took several weeks to fully cure. Until then it was a bit fuzzy/distorted looking through it, but now it is perfectly fine.

It sounds like he's speaking from experience. And maybe he's talking about polarization... have you ever looked at windows with polarized sunglasses on?
