![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
After considerable peer pressure from my online buddies (Thanks Dell!), the final straw came when one of my local friends bought an 06 997 with the same wheels as I have on my 996.
I can now see that my front wheels need to be pushed out at least 7mm to get back to a stock look.
So looking online I find a couple of manufacturers, and was wondering if existing users of these spacers have any preferences?
I've seen mainly H&R and Eibach so far.
Any help much appreciated.
Chris.

Hey Cdodkin,
I have just bought a set of 997 19's and when I asked about buying 7mm spacers Newport996 advised me, to do as he did, and get 15mm spacers. Check out his car and related posts as he has many pics posted so you can see how it looks. I ordered 15mm H&R spacers and 10 60mm bolts. They will arrive next week.
Good luck

Either way (7mm or 15mm) do NOT attempt to use the stock bolts. You need to use longer bolts that are proportionate to the thickness of the spacer.

And as mentioned above, don't forget to factor in the cost of new bolts.

Yes Chris,
I am going without the lock nut. In fact I am going to remove locknuts from rear to get silver or chrome plastic lug covers as I am sick of looking at the rusty OEM's. Why couldn't Porsche spring for some quality stainless lugs?
Good luck.

I have 7mm H&R fitted on my 03 C4S on the front and 14mm on the rear. The fronts have worked out fine (no wobbles and I have gone 125 MPH +) my only complaint is that they do not have the pilot hole that fastens them to the hub to hold them in place while you put the wheel on (like the rears do) and the remaining protruding flange on the hub is allmost nil to "Hang" the wheel on while you put the bolts thu. ( since the spacer does not have its own flange). If you just jack the car up enough to slide the wheel on without having to "lift" it too much the weels go on pretty easy. It would be better if they have the secondary flange. The price is right however.
My 2 cents

The H&R 15mm spacers arrived with the new 60mm bolts.
Car before spacers
Wheel off - hub face clean and ready to take spacer
Spacer fitted - nice locating screw feature lines everything up and keeps the spacer on the hub while you mount the wheel.
As you can see, adds a nice step out for the 997 alloys on the 996
New 60mm longer wheel bolts (essential)
Replace wheel, star pattern torque to 96lb-ft, and voilà!
Spacer visible through the wheel
Handling is great - no wobbles with these hub-centric spacers.
Turn-in is sharper - car feels nice and planted through turns.

Would probably never have done it without the peer pressure from Dell!
