looks like a great car. The S/C is one of the earlier ones, the tintake tubes to the throttle are 3 piece. The expansion tank has been replaced since it is white in color... at that mileage if it was the original it would be yellow in color. and it is egas.
The S/C is an evo and it is a great kit... there are prob close to a 1000 of these and has been designed and tested in AZ, so running hot is not an issues. Though the resale of these kits with the car hasnt all been that great. This car is prob pushing 420hp...

Are you thinking rear end damage then, If the bumper has flaws and the logo is off tilt and the expansion tank is new?

rear end damge, maybe, some shops remove the rear end covers, and exhaust system for the S/C installations... the expansion tank is a common failure in these cars.

This is a clean car. We put the kit in about a year ago, and at that time it had NOT been in a rear end collision. It is a well optioned, clear aero 996 and not something I would be affraid of buying a year ago. That being said, I cannot attest to the owner's maintinance since that time, however knowing the individual, it's not something I would shy away from. Good luck if you decide to go through with the purchase. Eric- how could you let this guy slip by with no plugs?!
