Default Correct colors I hope

I converted my RAW files into JPEG then saved for web. I hope this provides the correct Guards Red rendition

I don't understand what it is you're doing. Are you running these pictures thru Photoshop or some other program? I've seen cameras in cellphones that do a better job of reproducing the true color. The colors are still off....that is not an exact reproduction of Guard's red. The picture shown in thread #5 is the closest to the right shade. It shouldn't be this difficult to get the right color in a photograph.

He's playing with some pretty high-powered, professional level hardware and software, if I remember correctly.. A Canon EOS-5D in RAW mode, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. That kind of set up gives you tremendous flexibility in processing but also many opportunities to screw things up.. nothing against the original poster, but unless you're doing semi-pro work or really know what you're doing you can dork up colors pretty easily.

RAW mode is working with the "unprocessed" pixel information as it comes off the camera sensor. Digital camera purists swear by it because it does the least amount of processing "in camera" and therefore gives you the most information, and greatest flexibility, to post process later. But unless you really need it, it's a waste.

I'd shoot in JPEG fine, makeing sure everything in my processing chain was set to use the "sRGB" color space. Then save for web as the final step in Photoshop as the final step.. That should give a reasonable expectation that the colors will be similiar for everyone, although without getting into a true colormatched workspace there's no way to guarantee that -- your monitor could be set up completely different than mine.
