Arrow Coilovers, what to get?

Hey folks.

Im looking for a set of coilovers and wonder what is the best thing to buy for under $1500, not ready for a bilstein that goes over 2k.

What do you guys recomend?

Wait and get the Bilstein PSS9, that is what I am waiting to do but had to throw some lowering springs on in the mean time.

If you are willing to wait and save your dosh for the best system then do it. I know nothing about a price drop. IMO I would rather pickup a used set of PSS9's than any other manufactured coil-over system even if it is new (that is below $1,500).

Which springs did you get and how do they work with the standard shocks/struts?

Thanks

Springs = H&R. They're not expensive and they work all the time.
Match them to a set of Bilstein Sport shocks and you may find that you don't need coilovers.

just go with PSS9s, it's not that much more if you really think about it. $500-700? c'mon fellas. wtf are you doign driving a 911 if you gotta pinch that hard?

height adjustable. key thing. proven with the 911 crowd. key thing. you can say you got PSS9s and be in the cool club (j/k).

I went with the H&R Sport Springs (Part Number: 29513). Personally I do not recommend these springs if you are looking for both a nice ride and a lowered look, with 19's. Sure it is low but very firm, if you do not mind feeling every single bump in the road and being harsch then go for it, again this is temporary for me. I kept the stock shocks/struts but they will only last through this year..I hope. Then next year it will be the PSS9 system.

Hmmm that's a thought...thanks for sharing this possibility. Wait a minute, nope I think I will go for the PSS9 kit instead of a mix-and-match.

PSS9's are decent for the street but they are not ideal for real track use.

JRZ-Moton-Penske are much better and the coilovers that most die-hard racers use.

For what it's worth, I did the bilstein sport/h&r combo on my e36 m3 and it was a perfect match.

Agreed. But PSS9s are more than decent for the street. They're superb. X74 kit is great as well except I booted out that option since it's not height adjustable. I'm kinda vain. Need that perfect look that I want and I KNOW what I want.

I'm not even going to get into "real" track use. "Real" track use to me means you're spending enough of your time and talent to put bread crumbs on the table from posting up faster lap times than the other cars on the road course with you.

Else, it's just another hobby.
