am going to race good friend of mine will be visiting me from UAE with his Z06 , both are modified, my 996TT has little more HPS , heard that Z06 gets slower in top speeds is it true ? waiting for your posts

 

What type of race? 1/4 mile, top end, twisties?

If you want a better chance of winning, forget the straight line races. Throw some turns into the mix if you really want to show off! Everything I've read said that the Z06 is a handful for anyone but the most experienced drivers in terms of handling.

 

Please take video cam with you.

 

I would say that you will have a tiger by the tail unless your friend has no experience driving the ZO6. My experience in owning a ZO6 and having done several DE events is that the car is extremely potent in the right hands, however it does require finesse when you get into the twisties being a rear wheel drive car with tremendous Torque. What year Z06?

The latest ones are monsters stock, and modified I imagine they could produce crazy horspower depending on how extensive.

Make sure you take a video of it. I'll be rooting for you, but you might have a tough one on your hands..

spoke with some friends about the Z06 they told me at 5th gear is very slow, but this one is modified,
anyway you will see the vid and then tell you why i raced the Z06

 

Nice picture...you should probably take better lines than that 911...you won't be able to make as much up (if anything) in the straights.

I am pulling for you, but I think you are wrong about getting him in top speed. Even if the 996 has a faster top-end, which I don't think is the case, that car has so much more pull up to 100mph, it would have to be a very long straight course for that top speed to make any difference.

If it is not on a road track, I don't think you pull this one off. Can't wait to see the videos.

 

What year is the Z06?

 

Its either 06 or 07 modified , guys already raced a stock Z06 this one helped him the turbo lag but at top end it was so easy for my 996 "modified " pass him easly

If you guys seen so much videos if you remember there's a video a 996T " AUTO " racing a viper GTS , the viper was ahead until he shift in 5th the 996 catch up passed him so easy what try to tell you or to ask if the modified one will effect the gear ratio for the Z06 at 5th & the 6th gear ?

So he is pushing out at least 505 hp and if he put a supercharger on it he probably has an extra 150 hp.
Stock Z06 has a top speed of 198 mph and is 150-200 lbs lighter. You must have some serious mods to be able to keep up to him.
Can't wait to find out what happens.

 

I had no issues againt a Viper RT/10 and a 07 ZO6 in my 01 996...seriously the thing is a beast and the 996TT would be a good competitor if you throw in some turns.
