Any recommendations for a shop in NYC or the surrounding area?

ive heard good things about rennwerke in elmsford in westchester tho i dont have first hand experience. owned my c4 less than a year and ive used pepe in white plains when i had to have rms replaced under cpo. did the clutch at same time. they seemed reasonable and were pretty attentive. they also offer 15% or 10% discount on service and parts to pca members. pepe is an easy metronorth ride to white plains, 5min walk. elmsford a bit further out of the way, prob a $10 cab ride.

i would absolutely avoid manhattan motors as their pxing is 2x others when i was doing research pre purchase on some maintenace costs like brakes and clutch. its beyond stealing... its stealing, then raping and raping some more...

I'll second avoiding Manhattan motorcars, unless you have more money than brains.

+1 for Pepe Porsche. They have always treated me well. Fact is, the car is there now.

I usually take my car to Pepe even though Prestige and Jack Daniels Porsche are closer.

I have taken my car to Manhattan Motorcars, but that was for warranty work, I think they quoted me over $400 for an oil change. To be fair I think that also includes a BJ, but you have to let them know before hand so they can adjust the lift.

I have an '85 Targa that I am selling.....brought it to Cheech at Rennwerke today for the potential purchaser for a PPI. He's got a great shop...and went out of his way to be nice to me. He is not into gouging the customer...rather earn a long term relationship with you and your car. Not a bad approach.

They have got a TON of cars there being worked on....and a fairly large facility. He's in Elmsford (Westchester). I may use him for my maintenence (that I can't perform myself) on my "new" car, as he's only about 20 min. from where I live. I thought he was further. Anyhow...real nice guys at his shop...very down to earth, and really knowledgeble. Their phone number is 914.592.4006. I'll be back there to pick up my car tomorrow....crossing my fingers on a good report.

Best,
J

I live near Danbury. Is that a reasonably priced place to have maintenance done?

I might stop by just to talk to them, even though I don't have a 911 (yet?).
