Default OEM CF trim "warped"

The dashboard CF trim where the windshield defroster is... for those of you who have this CF option should know what I'm talking about...

The CF itself actually peeled back from the adhesive due to heat.

The plastic itself is curled now in certain spots and wondering if any of you have had this issue and were able to resolve it somehow without having to spend $1700 to replace it since it comes as a kit with the air vent pieces which I do not need.

Best,
Ben

I just got a quote from carnewal.... $750 shipped to US for both pieces wtf

is it cuz of heat or is it inevitable?

It is heat related try the dealer they are not that much $$$ for the strip. Wait till you need a new vent cover or the door rests $$$$$$$$ The steering wheels also cracks just so you know.

LOL sweet looking forward to it!

Steering wheel looks brand new so far.

Everything else is clean.

So you're saying the porsche dealership might be cheaper than carnewal? i hear they don't make these anymore.

Reid, thx for the tip. I love Chicago. I'm actually going to be there next on the 9th for a Wrigley Field event at Brixen Ivy.

Just got a respons from John... they no longer source these pieces.

since this piece is directly facing the sun all the time, i'm just going to replace with stock regular pieces.

i have the same problem with mine. i am thinking i will rip off the cf and custom cut some aluminium or even just paint one the exterior basalt black. either way, i suspect that even if i re-glue it will warp anyway.

Yea Porsche outsources these (not surprising) and I gotta say it's a bit disappointing because it does look so good.

I'm going to just get the regular pieces and stick them there. that windshield location is a scorched area.
