I vote "no" on the FRP 996.5 look.

Unless you do the whole front and rear, which will cost you like 20k...see this one....

then no...and even if you do that, you still have the mismatched 996 interior....I would say NO...do the 02+ facelift and be done with it.

My opinion: Upgrade to 02+ is minor facelift, probably acceptable to many prospective buyers in resale. Upgrade to 997 front end makes it look like something it isn't and probably scares off prospective buyers. Of course, this only matters if you plan to sell at some point.

If I ever bang up the nose (hope not too) or get a bunch of money (there is always hope) I would love to do a 997 GT3 nose conversion and maybe drop the 997 3.8l X51 into my car and run PCA as a "997" update. Hehe, that would be fun

I would do either the '02 facelift or the RUF kit.

If you get it, add the snow plow option. I'm sure eBay will have one that will fit "perfectly."

I agree with the others for a number of reasons - please don't do it.

I like it however I would opt for the poly version not the fiberglass. Those guys are known to make molds of kits and resell them in fiberglass. In other words, your body man may need to do some more work when attaching the panels

Leave yours alone, I love the original lines of the 996 with full earokit... even think the fried egg lights are better looking than the 2nd gen headlights

I think doing a front upgrade to a 997 is a little strange.....but what Misha did....yes I would do that upgrade!! that car is the best of both worlds!!

I just found a place in the neighboorhood that does that and I went to look at it... they did an amazing job on a yellow cab 996... not sure what material, I was loking at a taco wing (not great) but then I found my wing... you should go check it out... on Garlfield one block south of the river (Alhambra) on the East side... forgot the name.

By the way I meant to say I got my wing fom Schnell and not the shop I mentioned, their stuff was fiberglass... although they have all kind of other products which you might want to look at...

you know... looks like the pcar community likes the as original as possible look.... i know the 02 lift is minor, and the 997 one is a major reconstruction...... i think the ruf is a great option.......although i do love that 997 look......
