I am getting the CEL for bank 1 cam position sensor, I think the sensor goes bad because I reset it and sometime it comes back on after a cold day or sometime it never come back on for a week or so.

can any body point to me how hard is it to change it myself?

 

I had an intermittend CEL in my 00 C2 which was initially diagnosed as the cam position sensor, and later the cam tensioner. Although I don't know where the cam position sensor is, I was told the engine must be dropped to get to the tensioner or its solenoid.

 

Did you read the entire thread on renntech.org? Bank 1 is tough to get to.
