Default It's mod week for me!

This coming Wednesday, a fresh set of PS2s, the B&M SSK, Evo intake (I have an Evo exhaust, which I love but never hear much about on this forum) plus new plugs and the spring service. All in one day. I'm stoked. Just thought I'd share.

Tomorrow morning (Sat 4-7) I finally start my transformation with pictures.
4 x X-73 suspension
4 x Toyo T1R
4 x Champion 19" wheels

Will slap my own alignment on for the trip to the dealer to have it set up right. By Tues should be stylin'! Yea, a few little odds and ends too, chrome lugs, bright caps, stainless valve stems, and maybe a new CD.... any ideas?

Geee, should I skip the chrome wheel opening moldings?? - Just kidding.
Pumped and ready to go, eric

So tell us more about the EVO exhause.
Does it provide quicker throttle response and more zip?
Does it have a nice rumble at idle?
Does it sound really cool through the gears?

BruceP, You are going to love the sound that the EVO intake makes when combined with the exhaust. You guys that are doing the mods...please share pictures and results so the rest of us can experience them vicariously. Isn't this a wonderful addiction?

No difference to throttle response. The only way I've ever felt throttle response change is with new mapping, but that's just my experience. The idle sounds deep and mean. There is absolutely no drone at low rpm. Cruising or at anything below 4500 rpm or so, it's very, very subtle, which is what I specifically wanted. People turn their heads on the sidewalk, but not in sudden shock, if that makes any sense, more like they just want to know what it is. You don't hear much in the cabin at all. But then open it up, and it sounds to my ear like a race car. Just this beautiful, primal scream that sounds expensive.

They seemed to my eye to be very well made, and I like the effect of the polished stainless steel peeking out from under the rear valance (when it's clean). I would never have considered doing the exhaust if it wasn't for this forum, but the mod has given me a lot of pleasure.

Blows my mind. When I got this thing, I figured it was so much closer to being a dream car that I'd not want to change a thing. For me, modding was always a sign that I was getting sick of a car! But it's been the opposite... I'm not like some of the guys on this board, but in just over seven months (some of which it was parked), it's been...

Instrument trim rings, steering wheel emblem, a stupid little flashlight and a cool little umbrella that both say Porsche on them, non smoker package, exhaust, CAI, tires, SSK, a battery tender, and gifts of a coffee cup and a hat. Not to mention spending crazy money having the best Porsche indy I know of going over the car with a fine toothed comb and fixing every little thing that turned up.

Here's my advice to you Quicken users out there: Never type the word 'Porsche' in your transaction summary. You really don't want to know.

Just file it under "Auto:Misc" or "Misc" so it doesn't hurt as much at the end of the year.

Thanks for the feedback Bruce:
I have swapped out mufflers a few times, so I can say with some authority that the MaxFlow mufflers add both low end throttle response and high end zip. I can also say that B&B mufflers are complete crap. I really liked the RSR mufflers in my 993, but less so in my 996; Robin says the 996 exhaust is a challenge. So I will continue to look for the perfect exhaust.
Wish me luck!
