Greetings which are long overdue
I know it’s traditional to send up photos of your vehicle upon purchase to show the other members. However, I am over two years late on doing so!
While it might be easy to say I was just extremely busy, it would probably be more accurate to say that I procrastinated as well. It rains a lot here in Seattle, so it was difficult to find a combination of clean car, free time and good sunlight. I was previously a 993 owner and moved to a 996 model after a financially fatal engine problem was diagnosed. While I really enjoyed the styling of the air cooled vehicle, it was pretty much time to let it go.
My 996 is a base model Carrera. The color is difficult to see unless you’re in very strong sunlight. It’s a Dark Teal Metallic, but basically comes off as a dark olive in anything but perfect light. It was a special order color and as far as I tell, extremely rare. Interior is Graphite Grey with full leather, supple leather and extended leather. Just about everything is covered in the stuff! The leather goes a long way to making the interior a bit more upscale. It also has all the usual options, Xenon, Bose stereo etc.
About the only downside has been the lack of driving. Between work, a day to day car and my wife wanting to “explore the world”, the car currently has less than 6,000 miles. In any case, enjoy the photos.

Yes, I purchased Bumper Plugs for the keyhole. I don't think I've ever stuck a key into the door!
And of course, bumper plugs for the front bumper
Everything inside is covered in leather, note the center vent and cup holder is leather
Hopefully, the color comes through better here.

The door speaker grill is also done in stitched leather! In fact ALL the speaker grills are leather. Doesn't make the Bose system sound any better. Here are a couple of photos of them:

I'm getting some early symptoms of ELO (extreme leather overdose) just by looking! Very unusual color. Mint specimen, beautiful combo.
Your car needs you. This is coming from a guy with 4000 miles on his.
Once you spend more time looking at it from the inside (with the odometer rolling ) than from the outside, you know you're doing the right thing.
