Default Seat Refurbishing

Does anyone know if the back between the bolsters can be removed and some of the stiching has seperated can it be restored. We restored the leather with KIWI saddle soap cleaner, Black shoe polish and Mink oil which turned out really nice except for the problems with the seat itself.

Sorry - don't know the answer to your question, but it seems like any stitching could be repaired if in the right hands. Won't the shoe polish rub off on one's clothes??? Nice slippers, by the way

My slippers have become my shoes! My wife calls me "Slipperman." The shoe polish over time probably will rub off on your clothes but it is polished and buffed to remove any excess. We cleaned the seats with Saddlesoap. I should say, my wife cleaned the seats THREE TIMES with Saddlesoap, then we used the shoe polish, polished and buffed the seats, then we slathered mink oil on them, then polished and buffed again. The results, as you can see, are dramatic. We are quite pleased.

that back bolster comes out....there are three white plastic clips that clip rather snugly over a round piece of wire that runs along the top of the bolster....you can reach in there with both hands, one from each side....slide your hands up towards the top and try to feel those plastic clips up there...and unclip them one at a time. I know this because two of my clips were broken and the whole bolster flopped forward exposing the wire frame insides of the seatback. I didn't take it all the way out, so I don't know about how it's attached to the bottom.

Default Just tried this

Ok tried KIWI dye which has a sponge tip, it looks promising I will let it soak overnight then clean and see if it needs more at present It's hard to tell where the problem area was. $3.50 at Walgreens Mine is just rubbed off but no deep gashes I just see it that it as "better then it was".

$32.00 bucks for dye seems steep to me.
