Default Non Smoker's kit install - 01 996 Cab

I thought I would share my little afternoon project. I switched out my old ashtray for the OEM "non smoker's kit." It is a nice noticeable difference in size. I can fit more coins and my remote in there a lot easier. It is wider and deeper than the ashtray. Nice little mod if you are so inclined for a little more room for your spare change or whatever.

here is the brand new part

add some carbon...and you are all set!

Funny. Just did the same Mod today + clear side markers. Bumperplugs. Came with easy well written instructions. Took maybe an hour, 'cause I took my time and did it slowly. Last week I did the SmartTop.

Man, I got spring fever.

thanks all..I ordered the part from www.PCars.com

I was debating on doing this mod or not since my center console was painted to match. But..in the end since I do not smoke, I like the extra space for sure.

Thanks again for looking!

I can't stand the sound of change sliding around in turns and bouncing over bumps. Looks nice though.

Yeah, we stock it, and can match it to any painted finish as well.

aaahh..yes...but that is why there is a little rubber mat on the bottom. No change moving around at all. At least I dont hear anything.

Maybe I am too poor and dont have enough change to make noise!
