I have used it a couple of times in my 996. I used it about every 5k miles in my 911SC. The injection system loved the cleaning and was very noticeable. I first added it after the shop suggested a dose for a slightly uneven idle. Cleared up after one tank. I have not noticed the same type of night and day difference in the 996, but still use it since it did such a great job in the SC.

Just bought some Progard at Costco, about $10 for 4 bottles (one bottle per tank) I plan on trying it out in each of my cars to see if it makes a difference.......Wish me luck. Phil in San Diego

Try Jectron by Lurbo Moly, made by Germans for Germans(automobile).

The Jectron has a viscosity that allows it all to be flashed out of the oil. This doesn't make an oil change a priority post-use,I don't know if the same can be said for Techron.

BG44K is great as well from what I hear.

+1!

After running 2 bottles of Techron in my car and seeing no difference, I ran some BG44K thorough a full tank of gas. By the 1/2 way mark, the engine was noticeably smoother and idles much better. From what I hear, though, you don't want to put in a can of BG44K and then let your car sit in the garage. The car should be run hard and thorough, so I would do it prior to a DE event or driving trip if possible.

One other caveat to BG44K is that it shouldn't be used in Carburetted engines, since it can eat the floats!
