The mileage on these cars seem very sensitive to how you drive 'em - much more so than other cars I've owned. I've gotten as high as 26 (mostly highway), and as low as 14 (around town) on a tank of gas.

Of course other factors come into play but it seems like if you're light on the throttle you'll get decent mileage, especially on the highway.

One afternoon, drove from Seattle to Anacortes, Wa -- about 75 miles freeway driving. Got 30mpg on the way to Anacortes & 29mpg on the way back. Confirmed through checking the numbers. I very much like having a degree of control over my fuel mileage. It doesn't bother me at all when I get less, but have more fun. But it's nice to be able to float along on cruise if I want and get really quite respectable mpg. It implies to me that the fuel injection is really dialed in--only giving the engine what it needs for the conditions.

After changing 3 of the 6 plugs (I know, I'm slack), I drove 230 miles in the Interstate and averaged 26 mpg. That's my best ever and I was averaging 80 mph.
Still have to order/replace at least 1 spark plug boot and the other 3 plugs that are going to be BEARS! I was amazed to see the 26 mpg. Best before that was 24 mpg on the same route a few months back.
