Damn...I will be in NC at the time. Drive safe out there.

I am not familiar with the area however found a DOT site that provides great information for fun runs. This one is for the area of interest. Click on the left navigational well for itineraries, places of interests, overview, etc..

Don't worry - I recognise that car, I won't let you forget.

one suggestion,
please arrange some "rest-room stops" along the way.
last time, when i went out drive with the ferrarichat guys, we were lining up on the top of the mountain, begging some construction worker to use their private "smelly" bathroom.
not fun.

Yeah, I've been warned about that. When we do the drive we'll find places for rest-stops and an appropriate place for lunch.

I'm guessing that with this interest level we should keep lunch simple.

The draft route looks good, now we just have to get some specifics. My plan is to draw that up this weekend.

I'll try and keep that date open.

I'm working on it... you know I'll come up with something good.

I'll be working on it tomorrow.

Oreganet,

Do you need some help (a navigator) as you work-out and test the route this weekend?

I would love some help.

I'm not driving this weekend though. I'll sit down an spend time working on the satelite maps to work out the possibilities (in the directions that I mentioned to you previously), then we'll drive it after that if you're up for it.

So far I've got a rough idea of the roads, but haven't yet gotten into the details to look at things like housing density, busy intersections, etc. Hopefully I'll get that done tomorrow.

I'd love to drive it next weekend, but I'm skiing, so it will have to be after then.

I found a cool tool this evening for mapping distances on maps if you have a map.

Looks like I can make it and may bring a friend with a Boxster.
