Looking for some info on an Ocean Blue 2002 996 Carrera Coupe Tiptronic Vin#WPOAA29982S620438 with 58,100 miles. Carfax lists as Commercial fleet vehicle, and a couple of private owners. The car was purchased at West County Auto Plaza in St. Louis. A close friend's son just purchased the car. Did not get a PPI and we are trying to do some background work after the fact.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
The car appears to have been originally in Florida, then went to Illinois, and within a year was sold and ended up in St. Louis. Just hoping to see if an RL's might have had any experience with this car.

... dealer doesn't have necessarily info about service history. I tried to do the same thing when I bought my 996 but 3 of the large dealers here in the DC area (incl. the one who performed all services) did not have the service history. Providing them with the VIN# didn't help, they just said that they didn't service the vehicle. Asking further, I found out that they delete their service history out of their systems >1year - strange but true!
look at the carfax and find out where the car was sold\serviced, call the P-car dealers from that area and give them your VIN. They HAVE to have your car in records. When I bought my 911 I did the same and ended up with 7 pages of service and warranty work performed on my car by the previous owner. now I have all the service records of my car..
Thanks, I did pull the Carfax which was very exhaustive. I try to get information from previous owners when possible. Side note. He picked up the car in St. Louis tuesday, and tried to drive back to Chicago. He lost control and hit a curb on the bridge. Broke the rim and damaged the bumper. We are now trying to locate some rims as he got a quote of $5600 for replacements.
