Default Wet carpet in passenger floorboard?

While cleaning the inside of my MY99 996 I discover that the carpet is wet on the passenger side foot well as well as under the passenger side rear seat. I would call it wet rather than damp. I had to drive in the rain a few days ago so I figure that may be where the water is coming from but, how is it getting into the car and why only on the passenger side? I have not driven through any standing water more than a few inches deep.
I also noticed condensation inside on lower right hand side of rear window. I believe this is from the gasket as it appears to be loose in that corner. Is it possible that water could get to the front floorboard all the way from the back window? It seems unlikely to me. Has anyone else had this problem? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions from the group.

You could have a clogged drainage hose. Check out this link on the location of the drain hoses.

Are you sure you didn't "scare the ****" out of the last person to drive with you? Aunt Sally maybe? lol. Sorry couldn't resist. I hope you find your gremlin.

Highly unlikely, I almost never go less than 100 mph with passenger in my car but when I’m alone it’s a different story.

I agree with this...had this happen on my Audi A6 and it was blocked drainage...the passenger footwell water and the condensation are related.

thanks,
Amir

Yeah, I've read about the blocked drainage issue, check the drainage starting from your sunroof.

Could also be a crack in the AC housing. This happened to me a few years ago. No rain, so I thought it was a plugged AC drain hose. I took the really thin foam cover off of the AC housing and saw water coming from a crack. The foam cover hid the leak. It was a long trip and I think my wife may have kicked the housing trying to get comfortable (she is a 6 footer and we had 2 kids in back). A little plumbers goop fixed the crack...no leaks in over 4 years.

The air conditioning drain tube comes loose easily and can be found under the dash on the passenger side. This happened to me and is an easy fix. Will

Resurrecting an old thread...

I have water in the passenger front footwell. The dampness starts near the bottom of the floor so it doesn't seem to be 'rolling' down the frame.

I checked the darins near the battery (shouldn't have an impact) and they were clear.

Is the only thing left the AC drain? Does it fall off easily? Does anyone have a picture, pointing to where I should check?

Thanks!

When my core started seeping it was very noticeable. Turn on the heat and the smell would drive you out of the car.

So I blew out the line. But I still have moisture. What's next?

I've checked the wet spot with a UV light. It's not flouresing so I don't think it's radiator/ coolant from the heater core.

Not looking forward to it... but lifting the carpet? What could it be?
