nah they they bought them because they thought the 997 is better, when actually the 997 is slower the the 996, Porsche used to post 0-62 mp/h specs (0-100km/h) and since the 997 they started posting 0-60 numbers. 0-60 times make it look faster then the 996 when they really arn't.
I feel sorry for those that did get a 997, they should havn't waited until the face lift comes out with DFI and the extra hp. Now that's an upgrade to the 996 but the current 997 is just there to get the 993 crowd to buy a new 911.

say what you want but the 997S is superior in every objective way to the 996.
now if i were to choose between a 997S or a C4S, i'd pick the latter everytime because it looks better in my eyes and i value this more so than the outright performance specs.
choose between a 997S and the uber 911 anniversary edition, i'd go with the former everytime. the 997S not only performs better but it looks fresher, too.
what can i say? i love a wide ****. =D

They should have made the S the 997 and the 997S the 997S with X51.

Most of the difference between a 40th, a 997, and a 997S likely will be due to driver skill.
