There really isn't a comparison...(my air-cooled brothers are not going to like this) the 996 is much more of a car in every way. No smells of oil, exhaust, etc. No drama while driving *cough*briskly*cough*.
I love the older 911's in the stable, but they feel very mechanical versus the fluid feeling of the 996.

Thanks guys. I just had the winter tires mated to the turbo twists...it was fun driving to the tire shop with a couple of inches of snow on the ground. S02's = lot's of sliding.
I'm a bit under the weather today and probably won't leave the man cave, but as soon as I can, I'll take/post some pictures of the 996 in snow...proof that these bad boys can be fun daily drivers through the winter months in MI.
