Different dealers will have different prices. I could have saved $50-75 by going to Rietzl Porsche south of Boston, but Herb Chambers Porsche is right here in town. So it's more expensive.

In the end, I re-evaluated and decided to spend the nearly-$400 for a second key. Beats being unable to use the car.

That's outrageous!!! I thought that I spent $259 is too much. Now I know I got it done for much less. Never thought replacing a key could cost so much. I just hope I will never have to replace another key for a long time.

Default SUPERCHARGE SYSTEM

Hi,

I hope there are members in this forum that have the expertise on SC. Currently, there are two different systs. on the market. Both claimed to be the best in reliability, driveability, etc..

I want to install SC in my car, but not sure which syst. is best overall. Can any SC expertises give me some head start. Thanks!!!

You can just buy the key head and swap the internals and the blade and it will work fine.

I upgraded to the 911 fob.

Porsche_Smile,

Pelican Parts, Suncoast Porsche and your local P-dealer. Yes, some retails sale it with/without transmitter but price is still the same. Weird!!!

Swap the internals...???

Doesn't look all that simple on first glance...

Edit...

Oops, sorry, spoke too soon.

Mine is a GT/997 key fob.

Didn't know there was a 911 "lookalike".

Off to Porsche parts counter, again.

Here's my favorite part of this whole key thing: After I ordered the $400 dollar replacement key in order to avoid locking myself out of my car, the seller found two more keys and sent them to me. In the end, I'll have four.

What a waste of money.

I guess I should take comfort in the remote feature I'll get for my $400.
