Why do Ferrari's break into 2 parts on hard collision? Is that how they are designed to be?
I've seen several other crash pics of Ferraris and they were also broken into 2 parts.

In a serious impact, you'd probably be happier if the heavy engine section could break free and be off away from you.

I'm thinking it's a design feature - based on the fact that it seems to happen this way each time someone totals one.

wow probably had to be doing at least 80mph do do that. The other guy was doing 150+ on PCH and it looked teh same. I wouldnt be doing that speed when theres snow/rain/ice present either... the enzo is a carbon fiber shell that is designed like a race car to split apart and keep the energy from entering the cabin where the passengers are.

"maybe the car was defective"

Yeah. We all know these rich guys who think they know everything would never be at fault for driving like a maniac in a car he cannot handle at a high rate of speed on an icy road showing off. THat would neeeeevvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrrr happen, but certainly Ferrari builds defective Enzo's.

That's not snow - it's foam from the fire department!

You don't get snow and ice in Cannes/Nice - it's warm like California.

Anybody find it comical in the story that they reported that the F-Car "unexpectedly crossed the sidewalk and struck a tree"

WTF does unexpectedly mean in this story? What it should of read like was:
"........driving at a high rate of speed without training behind the wheel and owning an Enzo becasue he can, the Enzo expectedly crossed the sidewalk and struck a tree."

I just find it sad that seemingly the more money you have the more idiotic you become behind the wheel. Why does one work so hard to be successful only so that he can be more careless with his life and that of the passenger? Does wealth somehow make one larger than life?

Sigh...
