Good luck selling your car. I sincerely hope you get top dollar for it.
Mark - I don't think his "Member" designation was there initially, but he did mention he was a member and was awaiting his status change. Anyway, nice of you to step up and correct this!

As far a you comment to "stop sniffing the glue," why on earth would you want to stop?

Are you saying it's "illegal" to post something here for sale if you're not a member??
Please enlighten me, Did I miss that rule, or are you just being an A......

Cos - that is correct. You have to be a paid member to post items for sale. Now you ask "Why is that rule in effect?" Well, we have had people in the past sign us as a User and on their first or second post, list their cars for sale. The members notice the post and remind them that they can't list items for sale if they are not members. Shortly there after, one of the moderators will delete the posting. More often then not, we never see or hear from that person again. They were just trying to use the forum as a vessel to move their cars and had no interest in participating in the site or having any meaningful dialogue. I guess that is just like going to visit a prostitute, except you have to pay the 'tute.

You should have known that there would not be a fight, because I had not fired up the popcorn machine!

Thanks Tim, I wasn't aware of that.
And I know what you are talking about, I see those frequently on other forums.
But, if someone has been around for some time and has something for sale...I don't see why not.
Well...I won't argue with that, board rules...just follow the rules then.

Well, it costs only $18 to join for one year or $32 for two years. I joined for two years 'cuz I figured it was less than the cost of a full tank of gas and would last MUCH longer.

Cos...it's the whole aspect of NOT supporitng the site yet using it for PERSONAL gain. Sure, if you don't want to pony up the $18 to support the site but still like to hang here and get help from others, then that is perfectly fine. However, if you want to support the site that John D has put together then some of the "perks" that come with it include a personal webpage for hosting, access to the FOR SALE forum where you can post for sale items (another reason no-contributing users post in the car specific forums ONLY), as well you can access the OFF TOPIC forum (now that is worth the price of admission if only to see the "I'D HIT IT THREAD!".

But in usually economic 80/20 theory, it holds true here. 80% of the financial support comes from 20% of the members.

Hold on!!! I'm going to have to check out the OT forum... looks like I'm missing out.

As for Dell's comments - I'm with him. We've had several of these "for sale" posts over the last week or so. I commented on one of them and noone else did, so I shut up, but really, if you've been around here a while you should know the rules and if you're on your second or third post, then you'll be educated.
