Yes.. I'd say that's a fair statement about a lot of models. I had a 944T that needed constant attention, seemingly (wish I had it back, now). I think I agree with the statments about an older 911 being a little less comfortable for my second P-Car purchase. I have a Yukon for the everyday stuff, but would like another P-Car for that too. As covered in another thread- Both mine are black and I love it- just sucks having the 996 all slicked up and not wanting to take it out because of the forecast, but not wanting to drive myself around in the truckster either. Seems like there's only one good solution- Beater Porsche of some sort!

I'd like an older c2 964 turbo with lot's of mods and all of the heavy stuff removed. Prefer white.................... I missed one on ebay a while back and have been kicking myself.

928s are great in foul weather because of the way the transmission sits at the back, and obviously the 600 pound engine in the front helps the front tires. Each board type will give your "their" car choice. If DON'T work on cars, and are used to a relatively new Porsche without their old hangups like relays, wiring, belts, etc, then a 928 may be a frustration. They are NOT complex though. New cars are complex. Older cars are simply a bit worn no matter what you replace. For 20k, you could get a VERY NICE 928S4 (auto or manual VERY different cars even then) They could have heated seats, heated mirrors, rear defroster, rear wiper, headlight sprayers, etc.

I can't think of any porsche besides a cayenne that would be a good foul weather vehicle. But especially not an older 911. does anyone out there have one where the defroster works well ?
My 88's AC and defroster are worthless for the most part. I would say any fewc vehicle woud be better if you insisted on a P car.
