This driver must have extraordinary skill or he is just throwing the car around for effect. I can't imagine driving a car as ill handling as this one seems to be. Surely, other high performance older 911's are better than this, aren't they?
I think this was the car Road and Track used in its acceleration and top speed tests. Very powerful, but this seems goofy.

Smooth he is not so I think that says how good he is. He does get an 11 for big brass ones but a -12 for no helmet. Not that that would help if he made one less lucky correction. Hey, he is fast though.

That car seems to have no grip at all. Actually I think he technique was great for trail braking but I don't think that the fastest way around the track and one mess up and your off into the grass.

I can't verify this, but I've heard in other forums that the driver didn't use the breaks at all: he scrubbed off speed by throwing the car sideways. As to "ill handling", I don't know. Stefan's hands are busy but that's what it takes to get the Yellowbird sideways at that speed.
There's another version of the same run that's shot from a helicopter. In those shots, the driving is a thing of beauty, like rally driving but on pavement. The car approaches a high-speed sweeper, the tail kicks out nice and gentle, and smoke starts pouring out of the tire wells. If you've got the Porsche edition of "Victory by Design" you can see this briefly in the intro.

Really doesn't look any better to me. That just can't be the fast way around.
And to top it off, in searching I found this too:

I kind of doubt that this is the same car since it barely stays with the M3 it is following.

Looks like he was definitely going for the "exciting" way around. I thought the driving was precise, even if he wasn't shooting for a fast lap time.
OT, but here's a video of a really fast line around the 'ring:
