I bought my car on Aug. 9th. They STILL have my car listed on Autotrader. WHY would they do this?
It really kind pisses me off, but before I call them and bitch, i'd like sum feedback and maybe some insight to why they would keep it listed.
PS. Just to be sure, i checked my VIN against it, it matches.

for the same reason that realtors show ads for houses after they sell - to generate traffic - a little cheesy, but what can you do? Not worth worrying about, IMO.

Blackcab is spot on. Why delete advertising that you paid for instead they will keep it up as long as it is free. I don't think it is something you should waste your time complaining about.

I dunno, just kinda bothers me that my car may be out on the market for who knows how long. I think maybe I'll call Autotrader and tell them its my car and to get it the F off.
It doens't bother you guys that they are using a car to Bait-and-Switch people. Is that really that different from making an ad and using a car they never owned? I don't think so.
Its run till it sells. They can keep that ad up as long as they want. You have to manually renew it EVERY 2 weeks, or the ad will be dropped. That means, they are actually renewing this ad every 2 weeks.

arr0gant - if you're so pissed at the dealer, your best revenge is to let him keep the ad up and have people pissed off at him when they show up and the car isn't there. Before this, did you think that used car dealers do everything with 100% honesty? Life is too short, and there are plenty of other things to get worked up about. If you had someone install an engine and it blew 500 miles later, and then they were closed down, I would let you cry on my shoulder all day long, but this is silly...
